THE "TAX CAULDRON"--Why should we pay taxes? Why should we pay tax? From high school to intermediate to graduate level studies we are force fed into the presumption that the "TAX" collected by the government in form of indirect and direct ; is spend on the welfare of the citizenry. To provide them with good roads, good schools, good transport facilities and secure administrative environment to move freely without fear. Our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi had said ," Government is custodian of wealth, not its owner". But sadly the present and past central and state dispensation think that they are the owner of public funds and can spend on whatever "THEY CHOOSE".
